Many adults with autism or I/DD can be financially self-reliant, with a stable job in a supportive workplace. But finding that job can be a slow and challenging process.
FastTrack to Work changes that: through a paid internship with skills training, job coaching, and individualized support, we help participants find a job that matches their skills and interests.
This program is for adults (21 years or older) with autism or intellectual disabilities who want to gain permanent employment through paid internships.
What FastTrack to Work is all about
Earn through a paid internship
Participants earn an industry-standard wage from the first day of training; this means having a regular income while learning on the job.
Work in a supportive workplace
A dedicated coach checks in on each participant both on-site and remotely. Coaches and peer mentors help to develop skills and make sure everything goes smoothly.
Accelerate the job search
Participants get personalized support through work readiness training, help with their resume, job applications, interview training, and more.

How many hours per week does FastTrack to Work require?
The program runs over a period of 12 weeks; the internship + coaching +
classes + other activities usually total 20 hours a week.
A typical schedule could look like this:
- Monday-Thursday from 10am to 2pm: paid internship
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 3pm: job development (help with resume, job applications, interview practice, etc)
- Fridays 10am to 2pm: Job exploration visits to community businesses to explore different types of jobs and industries
